About Sandra McNamee

Sandra McNameeMy background spans over 25 years experience of working within the voluntary and community sector, in particular the children’s and women’s sectors (see my Linkedin profile for a full cv). I am totally passionate about and committed to promoting equality, tackling poverty and promoting social inclusion. In September 2010, I finally took the plunge and fulfilled a long-term ambition of establishing McNamee Consulting… I can honestly say I have never looked back.

I work with a range of organisations, from small community groups, to larger regional and national charities to provide innovative consultancy solutions which help them to reach their full potential and realise their vision of creating positive change in their communities.

Why I do what I do

I am one of those annoying people who really does love doing what they do! Every consultancy project is different, which means, for me, no two days are the same. I enjoy getting to know organisations and helping them to make changes for the better. My ultimate goal in all my work is to bring about improvements to communities. I do this by working closely with clients, listening carefully to the challenges they face and working with them to identify simple but creative solutions to overcome these challenges and build upon their strengths.

How I measure success

When I move on from a project I always ensure I have left behind real tangible improvements and high levels of satisfaction. My success in what I do can be evidenced by my reputation, by client testimonials and by the fact that I have worked with several of my clients now on a repeat basis since McNamee Consulting was established.

Interests

I have a passion for and commitment to working with and on behalf of communities who experience fear or injustice, to ensure their voices are heard and to help create safe and supportive services to meet their needs. Having started my career in youth work, I have a keen interest in promoting children and young peoples rights, in particular rights relating to participation and engagement. I love to revisit my youth work roots and always jump at an opportunity to work with groups of young people.
